New Details Emerge In North Huntingdon Alleged Murder-Suicide

NORTH HUNTINGDON (KDKA) -- Investigators in Westmoreland County have released new details in the case of an alleged double murder-suicide in North Huntingdon Township.

The bodies of 68-year-old Franklin Hutchison, along with his wife, 67-year-old Hazel Hutchison, and their 47-year-old son, William Hutchison, were found Thursday evening in their Guffey Road home.

According to the Westmoreland County Coroner's Office, Hazel and William were shot and killed before Franklin turned the gun on himself.

All three died of gunshot wounds to the head.

Police were called to the home for a welfare check on the couple. The coroner's office reports that all three "appeared to be deceased since Tuesday."

Autopsies were performed Friday.

The Westmoreland County Detective Bureau and North Huntingdon Police continue to investigate.
