CONSOL Names Steve Kiray a Community All-Star

Congratulations Steve Kiray!

K9s for Kids is an organization that helps children with Autism and Diabetes.  They place service dogs in homes with children with disabilities to assist the child's everyday needs and disabilities.   Steve has dedicated himself to training these service dogs everyday to help any child that he can.   Steve had a horrible injury that left him disabled and unable to continue working as a Paramedic like he had for over 20 years.  Everyday he is in agonizing pain from the injuries he sustained from his accident.  Steve fell and broke his back and was 1 millimeter away from being paralyzed. Yet, he gets up everyday to train these puppies to be great service dogs for the children that participate in the K9s for Kids program with not a second thought. His love for children and dogs has led this program to be the success that it is and he has done this is such and encouraging and unselfish way.  His venture is to help any child that he possible can and any family that he can.  Parents look at him like he has given them life all over again.  They don't know how to feel that their child finally sleeps all night, or the don't have worry that the child will run away or cause self harming actions to themselves.  The parents get a sense of relief that this service dog that Steve has trained has become a life long companion and partner to their child.  It is such a rewarding experience and he does this everyday in pain!  No questions asked and not a second thought give.

Children are the future of our world and how one many can be so unselfish and helpful to so many families. This is an All Star to anyone!
