2 Shot In Downtown Attempted Robbery
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Police are investigation a shooting in downtown Pittsburgh, Friday afternoon.
The shooting happened on the River Walk adjacent to the 10th Street Bypass.
Two Zone 2 bicycle officers were on bike patrol when they saw a man with a gun, and a robbery in progress underneath the Seventh Avenue Bridge.
The officers immediately notified dispatch and called for back-up.
Pittsburgh Police say Matthew Graner had left work in Moon and was walking along the Riverwalk underneath 7th street to meet up with Wykie Pace to buy drugs.
Tyrus Campbell and Cheyenne Miller then decided to rob Graner.
Police say Campbell pointed the gun at Graner's head and pulled the trigger.
"I've been here 25 years and seen it all but nothing really like this," says Lt. Kevin Kraus. "Not up this close."
The third suspect, Cheyenne Miller, remains in the hospital in critical condition.
Campbell and Pace were taken to the Allegheny County jail where they're charged with attempted homicide.
