Local Couple Displays Pens Pride All Year Long

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Stanley Cup Playoffs span several weeks, but a Delmont couple's love for the Penguins spans all four seasons.

Their decorating scheme is all Pens, all the time and pink flamingoes just wouldn't cut it at the Penguin house of Delmont.

"This is supposed to be my carport, but of course you know, it's another addition to a Penguin room," Bonnie Langford said.

KDKA-TV's Dave Crawley soon found out why the extra space was needed.

"We're going into my kitchen area where I put magnetic paint on my cabinets so I could hang the magnets," Bonnie said.

Cradling her dog, Flower, named after Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, Bonnie shows off score sheets listing every game of the season. While her mobile home may look like a man cave, it's not.

"There's a difference between a man cave and cavette. Man cave gets one room. Cavette gets the whole house," Bonnie said.

The man of the house is fine with that.

Dennis Langford started with trading cards.

"I have close to a million hockey cards. I have over 3,000 different Mario Lemieux cards," Dennis said.

His figures they have more than 10,000 different pieces of Penguins history. But, their favorite is a photo at Mellon Arena.

"What was so nice was because my husband is disabled and on a scooter. The Penguins staff came out and got him and actually took him under the ice where the players go in and took us right up to the Stanley Cup so we wouldn't have to wait," Bonnie said.

They say they'll never stop collecting. Bonnie admits that her ultimate goal is more space for her cavette.
