Baby Killed, 2 Wounded In East Hills Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating a shooting that left two people wounded and a baby dead in the East Hills Tuesday night.
It happened around 7:40 p.m. in the 2200-block of East Hills Drive.
One of the three people shot was a 1-year-old baby who was killed.
Gunfire apparently erupted from a passing car.
Lt. Richard Pritchard said a woman who was lying on top of the child when police arrived was shot in the chest.
She's hospitalized in critical condition. It's not known her relationship with the child, if any.
Another woman was shot in the buttocks.
The two women were 19 and 20 years old. They're suspected to be the aunts of the baby who was killed.
They were both taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
More than 30 shell casings were recovered near the scene.
Police say there were possibly three gunmen and that they do not believe the three victims were their intended targets.
Stay with KDKA for more information.
