Second Suspect Wanted In LA Fitness Car Break-Ins

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- State police are asking for help from the public to identify another suspect in the LA Fitness car break-ins in Westmoreland County.

Surveillance video shows a woman is seen at the Hempfield Township Walmart purchasing nearly $1,700 in gift cards with a stolen credit card.

Police say that credit card was stolen less than an hour earlier at the LA Fitness across the street.

The victim's car window was smashed during the theft.

Police say this is the same way another theft went down just two days later.

"I find it hard to believe that these two people aren't linked together somehow," said Trooper Steve Limani, of the Pennsylvania State Police. "These thefts that took place at the LA Fitness took place about the same time of day, around 10 o'clock in the morning, and they were at the Walmart almost immediately after purchasing the gift cards."

The other suspect tried to buy expensive electronics and gift cards at Walmart, but was tripped up when he didn't know the pin number of the stolen debit card.
