Police Investigate After Local Fisherman's Body Found In River

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The body of Donald Duncan of Tarentum was pulled from the Allegheny River in Springdale Monday evening.

Duncan was night fishing late Sunday night with a friend, Amos Taylor of Arnold.

Taylor told KDKA's Ralph Iannotti that he and Duncan were fishing after 10 p.m. Sunday night, when Duncan left for about 25 minutes to get some propane for a light, and when he returned, was nowhere to be found.

Taylor was interviewed by investigators.

He said later "this is he first time I've ever went fishing with Duncan in that spot and it's sad (what happened)."

Tarentum police and Allegheny County homicide detectives found the victim's hat, fishing license, fishing rod and some blood on the shore where men were reportedly fishing.
