Local Hit & Run Victim Revisits 2010 Accident

GREEN TREE (KDKA) -- John Timbario can't recall much from that night back in October 2010 when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in front of his Green Tree home.

Timbario, 62, had gone outside to move his car from the street to his driveway when he was run over and tossed into the air, landing on the street.

He says he remembers waking up 16 hours later in a hospital with a broken hip and clavicle and numerous cuts and abrasions.

He was hospitalized for a month, had three surgeries and has had years of rehab.

He required more than 120 stitches in his face.

Green Tree Police Chief Robert Downey Jr. told KDKA-TV's Ralph Iannotti that investigators believe Timbario was hit by an SUV or pick-up truck because of the nature of his injuries.

Police say any information, however insignificant someone might think it is, may help them find the driver involved.

Timbario's wife, Phyllis, says she thinks the driver may have been drunk or didn't have a license or insurance.
