Female Dragged During Castle Shannon Hit-And-Run

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police in Castle Shannon are investigating after an overnight hit-and-run accident that involved a pedestrian.

Officials say that the victim, 22-year-old woman, was dragged for several yards.

It happened at Route 88 and Killarney Drive around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night. The woman and a male were walking across Route 88, heading toward sixth street when an SUV hit her.

She was in the crosswalk at the time and was dragged for several yards.

Allegedly the driver then told the victim and her friend that he was going to pull over to the side of the road to talk to them, but sped off.

"The driver fled the scene," said Castle Shannon Police Chief Ken Truver.

The victim was later taken to the hospital and treated for head and neck injuries.

Police are still looking for the driver who is described as a white male, about 50 to 60 years old, with gray hair and glasses.

He was driving a dark color SUV with possible license plate numbers of ZDT.

Anyone with information is asked to call Castle Shannon Police.
