East Deer Man Tries To Take Own Life After Wife Goes Missing

EAST DEER (KDKA) - An East Deer woman is still missing and police are asking for the public's help.

Jill Clark, 50, was reported missing earlier this week, after not showing up for work at the Post Office in Penn Hills.

According to police, she left home Tuesday morning, after a fight with her husband.

Friday evening, police said they found her husband, 50-year-old Thomas Clark hiding behind a tree in Deer Lakes Park after he tried to take his own life.

His injuries were not life-threatening.

Clark was handcuffed, and taken from the scene by ambulance. Police began searching the park, after they discovered his black pickup truck sitting in parking lot in the park.

Lt. Andrew Schurman, of the Allegheny County Police Department, told KDKA's Ralph Iannotti tonight "Thomas Clark will be treated at a local hospital, and we want to speak with him at length about his (missing) wife, Jill."

Clark is described as being 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds with brown eyes and brown and gray hair.

She does not have her cell phone, medication for depression, or access to cash.

She was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jean shorts, and sandals.

Police said she has never been missing before, but does have a drug abuse problem.

Police are asking that if you see Clark, call 911. Anyone with other information can call the Allegheny County Police Homicide unit at (412)-473-1300.
