Fans Endure Heat For Jimmy Buffett Concert

BURGETTSTOWN (KDKA) -- The hot, hazy sun beat down on 20,000 Parrotheads as they partied long before the Jimmy Buffet show began at First Niagara Pavilion in Burgettstown.

"The weather is so humid and hot, but I love it. It's great," Pat Senneway, of Baldwin, said.

The hot weather didn't appear to bother the mostly middle-aged crowd as they danced in sand, dipped their toes in a kiddie pool and hydrated.

"I put on light clothes and we have ice water and beer, cold beer," said Lori Skeddle, of Bellevue.

While there was plenty of water available, H2O didn't appear to be the beverage of choice.

About 90 minutes before show time, relief from the heat – a downpour. Rain dampened the Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts, but didn't douse the enthusiasm.

When Jimmy Buffet finally took the stage, he told the crowd he really like those showers because it cooled things off. And with that, the beach balls were flying, and oh what a party it was.

"He's the party guy and we love it," said one fan.
