Grilli: Number of All-Stars A Sign That "Good Things Are Here"

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan) -- Pirates closer Jason Grilli was selected to participate in his first All-Star game.

Grilli made his debut in the ninth inning, although the National League was trailing.

"A lot went through my head," Grilli told The Fan's Vinnie Richichi. "I looked down at the mound as a kind of a moment to clear my head and focus on what I was doing."

Grilli was one of five Pirates selected to the National League roster. Grilli told Richichi that it's a sign the rest of baseball is taking notice.

"I think it's unbelievable that we've had good representation here at the 2013 All-Star Game. It just shows what's happening in Pittsburgh. It's really a sign that good things are here, it's not to come," Grilli said.
