Fans Pack Saint Vincent Campus For Steelers Fan Fest

LATROBE (KDKA) -- The Steelers first night practice of training camp was held Friday evening in Latrobe, but not in its usual spot.

Because of field conditions at Latrobe Memorial Stadium, the team moved the practice to the place they call home during training camp.

Steeler fans of all ages packed the Saint Vincent College campus Friday afternoon for one reason.

"I'm just excited to see the Steelers practice," said one fan.

The night practice was originally scheduled to be held at Latrobe Memorial Stadium, but had to be moved to Saint Vincent College because of an issue with the grass.

Some fans still parked in downtown Latrobe and took shuttles to the college where Steelers Fan Fest is in full force.

"It's a good family-oriented event, kind of like family-friendly tailgating, good for really everyone," one fan said.

Steelers Fest is your gateway to all things Steelers, from face painting and tattoos to a giant slide and some great local food. There's even a dunk tank where a brave Cleveland Browns fan is having trouble keeping his head above water.

KDKA's Trina Orlando: "What do you think about shirt he is wearing?"

Fan: "I hate the Browns."

Meanwhile, other fans lined the field early, hoping to be one of the lucky ones to score an autograph.

Orlando: "Whose autograph hoping to get?"

Fan: "Big Ben."
