Steelers Sign Offensive Tackle D'Anthony Batiste

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Steelers say they have signed veteran offensive tackle D'Anthony Batiste to a one-year contract.

Batiste has played for six other NFL teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Washington Redskins, Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals.

He has played in 37 games and made 14 starts.

Batiste went undrafted in 2004 out of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He signed with the Cowboys as an unrestricted free agent in 2006.

Prior to that, Batiste spent some time in the Arena Football League and Canadian Football League.

The team says they have placed rookie guard Nik Embernate on the waived/injured list.
