Blood cancers are commonly known as liquid tumors. These cancers include various types of lymphomas and leukemia. Treatment options for blood cancer have changed significantly over the years.
“Stem cell transplant is an easier procedure now”, said Dr. Khan.

“Bone marrow transplant was not great for the donor because it required multiple sticks into the bone marrow and required a longer recovery time,” said Dr. Khan.
The severity of blood cancer is a determining factor for which type of medical treatment a patient needs.
