Heavy Rains Cause Flooding In Parts Of Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Heavy rains caused severe flooding in parts of the area Thursday night.

According to emergency dispatchers with Allegheny County, three people had to be rescued from their vehicle after flood waters engulfed Bull Creek Road in Fawn Township.

The road was closed for part of the night, but has since reopened.

Meanwhile, in West Deer Township, officials closed part of Saxonburg Boulevard after reports of flooding in the 2100-block there.

There were also reports of rising waters along Millerstown Culmerville Road in Allegheny County.

Crews were also out at the corner of Little Deer Creek Road and Creighton-Russellton Road after waters started to rise there.

The road was blocked for a time and several parking lots looked more like small ponds.

There are reports of some basement and roadway flooding in Chicora and Karns City, according to Butler County emergency dispatchers.
