“I think that the addition of Pitt and Syracuse now, and certainly Louisville next year, to go along with the grant of rights that have been signed over by each institution in the ACC, is giving long-term success to that conference,” Brando said. “I think (it) is the beginning of a great new era in Pittsburgh football.”

Brando is impressed with the Panthers, and believes that they are on the right track.

“This conference is not so good that they can’t make instant headway,” Brando said. “I think in the ACC they’re going to be competitive right away.”

Brando added that while they might not be able to compete with Clemson and Florida State just yet, but with everybody else, they can compete with and beat any team they play.
