KNOXVILLE (KDKA) – A man is in custody after allegedly slashing his brother in the head early Tuesday morning in Knoxville.

According to police, the incident happened in the 300-block of Reifert Street around 12:45 a.m.

Police believe the brothers were engaged in a fight over rent, when one slashed the other in the head with a knife with a three-inch blade.

The victim was taken to the hospital and possibly went into cardiac arrest. There is no word on his condition at this time.

As for the suspect, he initially fled the scene but was later arrested.

He has been identified as 27-year-old Quazi Weaver, who has been charged with aggravated assault.
