Duquesne Holds Annual "Mass Of The Holy Spirit"

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Duquesne University held a special mass to celebrate the start of a new school year.

The school held its annual "Mass of the Holy Spirit" Sunday.

Bishop David Zubik joined members of the spiritan community to commemorate the beginning of the fall academic semester.

It's an historic year for the university.

"This is our biggest freshman class ever, and last year we had our biggest class ever, so this beats that previous record," said University President Charles Dougherty. "We're in a period of biggest and best, it says a great deal about Duquesne University and how our reputation is spreading."

Duquesne is welcoming more than 1,500 freshmen this year.
