Sweet-Toothed Liquor Thief Tells Clerk: "See Ya"

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) - Police have been searching for a sweet-toothed, fleet-footed thief who got away with two bottles of flavored vodka after telling a western Pennsylvania state store clerk, "See ya!"

The New Castle News reports the incident happened about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 22 in a Wine and Spirits Store in New Castle. That's about 45 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

Police say the suspect carried two bottles of flavored vodka - one grape and one cotton candy - to the checkout counter.

When the store's manager asked the suspect for his identification, the man simply said, "See ya!" and ran out the door.

Police say the suspect drove away in a late model Pontiac Grand Am. Two other people appeared to be in the car as it sped away.
