Suspects Held For Trial In Fatal Indiana Co. Trail Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two men were held for trial in the shooting death of an Indiana County man.

It happened in June when police say James Alexander was shot in the head during a drug deal on a rural walking trail in Clymer.

Shortly after, 22-year-old Christopher Salsviger and 33-year-old Gregory Patterson were arrested and charged in the shooting.

Police say they think the two men were trying to get revenge for a girlfriend who was cheated during a drug deal.

The key witness for the prosecution was a man serving time for dealing drugs.

He told police that he was with the victim moments before the murder, when the two were attacked by Patterson.

He says he saw Salsviger pull out a gun and heard it go off as he ran away.

Investigators also testified about incriminating text messages in which Patterson tells his girlfriend about the murder.
