PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Hundreds showed up to taste a little bit of the ‘Burgh at Heinz History Center’s Hometown-Homegrown event.

Organizers say it’s only grown since last year.
Since organizers featured a cookie table at last year’s event, this year they decided to step it up with a contest for “Pittsburgh’s Perfect Pierogi.”READ MORE: Know The Score: November 26, 2021
Included in the contest were Samantha Stone Catering, S&D Polish Deli, Sinful Sweets, James Street Gastropub and Speakeasy, as well as Braddock’s American Brasserie.
And after all was said and done, the cheese and potato pierogies with sauteed onions by S&D Polish Deli in the Strip won as “Pittsburgh’s Perfect Pierogi.”
Visitors were also asked to bring in their own pierogi recipes.
