Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette Sums Up Week 1 "It's A Mess"

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined The Fan Morning Show in his weekly spot to recap the week 1 Steelers 16-9 loss to the Titans.

"It's a mess" Bouchette told the guys. He is also reporting that the Steelers can add LaRod Stephens-Howling to the growing list of players who are done for the season. He is out with an ACL injury. Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey was also lost for the year with an ACL and an MCL injury that will require surgery. Larry Foote will also have to go under the knife to repair his triceps injury and he is lost for the season.

Bouchette says the Steelers will re-sign RB Jonathan Dwyer to replace Stephens-Howling.

He also thinks that newly signed Cody Wallace will get the first crack at replacing Pouncey at center and Kion Wilson who did not play anywhere last year will be in for Foote.

The Steelers may also look to bring in John Malecki who was cut to sign Cody Wallace for depth.

Bouchette says he can't remember a worse day for the Steelers, not so much because of the game, but because of the injuries and the lack of hope for the season.

He tried to paint a positive picture by saying the defense did look good despite the one drive where they had the ball shoved down their throat and there were no forced turnovers.

The Steelers can take some hope in the fact that the entire division lost as well.

"Maybe it's one of those years" Bouchette said.
