Multiple People Pulled From Burning Apartment Building

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Firefighters had to rescue people from a burning apartment building early this morning.

The fire started just before 5 a.m. in the 5800-block of Alderson Street in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood.

It appears to have started in a bedroom in a top floor apartment and spread.

Officials say no one was injured in the fire.

Around 11 a.m., officials had also said that residents could move back into their apartments.

The American Red Cross was on scene providing assistance.

They are helping five residents with food and shelter.

There's no word on when the residents will be allowed back into the building.

Stay with KDKA for more information.
