Penguins Trim Training Camp Roster To 44
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins made several roster moves Tuesday morning as they work on setting their lineup for the regular season.
According to the Penguins' official website, 11 players were re-assigned to either juniors or the AHL, which leaves them with 44 players on the training camp roster (25 forwards; 15 defensemen; 4 goaltenders).
Forwards, Jean-Sebastien Dea, and Matia Marcantuoni and goaltenders Matt Murray and Tristan Jarry were sent back to their junior teams.
In addition to those moves, the Penguins also reassigned forwards Brian Gibbons, Tom Kostopoulos, Paul Thompson and Dominik Uher and defensemen Nick D'Agostino, Reid McNeil and Clark Seymour to their AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Dea was sent back to juniors after being signed to a three-year entry level contract after being in camp on an amateur tryout.
Dea has played for the Rouyn-Roranda Huskies in the QMJHL the last two seasons. Last year, Dea racked up 45 goals and 40 assists in 68 regular season games.
