Fans Not As Nervous After Bucs Snap 3-Game Losing Streak

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pirates snapped their three-game losing streak Thursday with a win against the Padres. But have those losses caused fans to get a little more nervous about this year's winning team?

On the heels of a heartbreaking loss Wednesday night, Pirates' fans arrived at PNC Park at midday Thursday in mass, bringing with them positive vibes.

With the Pirates fighting to lock down at least a Wild Card berth in the playoffs, you would understand if a three-game losing streak is a bit disconcerting.

"Still stay confident," said fan Dino DeFlavio, of Murrysville. "I think they've never been in this situation, so they're tight."

After the Pirates gave up an early run and then matched that with one of their own, fans settled in for an afternoon in the sunshine at PNC Park.

And it turned out to be a confidence-building afternoon as the Pirates brought their bats, and never looked back, cruising to win No. 88.

"It made up for the last two nights," said fan Garnet Hoffman, of North Huntingdon.

"I think it was a wonderful performance," added fan Bryson Manker, of the North Side. "I've been here for the past three nights, and I was hoping we didn't get swept."

"I think they're as good as anybody right now," said fan Clay Pavleko, of Donora.
