Greensburg Central Catholic Students Rally In Support Of Principal

GREENSBURG (KDKA) -- Students at Greensburg Central Catholic High School are showing their support for their school's principal.

The students held a service near the high school Friday afternoon to pray for Principal Denise Myers, who was unexpectedly placed on administrative leave on Monday.

Organizers say this was a constructive and positive way for the students to support a woman who has had a positive impact on all of their lives.

"I love my mom, my family loves my mom, and we support her 100 percent. She's the best person I know and we just want to say thank you to everyone for coming out here, it really means a lot to us. Central's like my second family and I'm so grateful for all of the support," said Alex Meyers, the principal's daughter.

Many of the students wore tee-shirts to the prayer service in a showing of solidarity.

There is no word on why the principal was placed on leave.
