Police: Beware Of Bogus Playoff Tickets

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- With the Pirates saying that the tomorrow night's wild card game at PNC Park is sold out, Pittsburgh Police say fans still looking for tickets on the secondary market should be wary of scalpers selling bogus tickets outside the ballpark.

If you buy a counterfeit ticket, there's a good chance you'll never see your money again, or see the scalper who sold you the fake ticket.

Police will have their usual four plainclothes officers scouting for scalpers around the ballpark, and there will be increased security inside the stadium with the estimated nearly 40,000 fans.

One website says some tickets for the do-or-die game tomorrow night were selling for nearly seven times their face value.

The Pirates practiced at the stadium late this afternoon, followed by two-hour practice by the Reds.

Tomorrow night's match-up will be the first playoff game in more than a generation in Pittsburgh, and the first playoff game in the history of PNC Park.

Chris Joys of Beaver Falls said, "it's crazy we've made it this far, looking at past years. Everyone is rooting for them [now], everyone is coming out for the team."

Lucas Cartwright said, "they've been doing real good this season, I think they have a chance, I hope they make it to the World Series."
