Ed Bouchette's Instant Steelers Analysis: Trade For Brown A 'Panic Move'

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - What can Levi Brown do for Pittsburgh? According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers beat writer Ed Bouchette, not much. Ed joins Vinnie & Cook for his weekly visit on Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan.

With reports that the Steelers have traded for Arizona offensive tackle Levi Brown, Bouchette believes the move speaks volumes to where the team sits right now.

"This looks like a panic move to me," Bouchette says. "They judged Mike Adams and Marcus Gilbert to be two good young tackles, and they did nothing to fortify the position. They have nothing there now, other than Gilbert and Kelvin Beachum. It's just a strange move."

"The one thing we're not taking into account with Mike Adams, and something nobody has brought up, that knifing he had in June on the South Side maybe that's affecting him more than anybody is letting on," Bouchette says.

Bouchette reported that the Steeler locker room was in "panic mode" after falling to 0-2. Two losses later, he reports that the locker room's morale has been demolished.

"There's a difference," Bouchette says. "If there was any swagger, it's gone."

Ed also gives the inside scoop on why the Steelers may not think Max Starks is the answer, and what options the Steelers may truly have to get better on the field.
