MLB Network Analyst Harold Reynolds: "Cole Is Going To Present A Problem"

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)-MLB Network Analyst Harold Reynolds joined The Fan Morning Show Friday to preview NLDS Game 2.

Reynolds says he thinks the Pirates have an advantage today with Gerrit Cole on the mound facing the Cardinals for the first time. He said it will force the Cardinals to be more aggressive early, because they don't know what to expect in deep counts.

"Cole is going to present a problem," Reynolds said. "If they get a good start out of Cole, today they have a shot."

Reynolds says yesterday's 9-1 loss was an ugly game, but it's only one game. If they get a win today they are right where they want to be heading back home 1-1.

He said that crowd he saw Tuesday night in Pittsburgh was one of the best, calling it football-like -- adding that he wished he could've been there to see it in person.

Reynolds also said he likes Francisco Liriano going for the Pirates in Game 3, but today is a pivotal game because in a short series like this, you won't come back down 0-2.

Harold also thinks the Pirates are going to need to manufacture runs or they won't win this series.

He would also like the Dodgers to wipe out the Braves in the other NLDS series, saying he expect to see more of what happened Thursday night.

Reynolds is also a close personal friend of Dusty Baker who was fired by the Reds today.

"I don't like it, but I understand why," Reynolds said.
