Driver Injured After Truck Crashes Into Mount Oliver Home

MOUNT OLIVER (KDKA) - A Mount Oliver homeowner got quite a surprise as he was relaxing in his house when a truck came crashing in.

According to police, the accident happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday. The driver of the truck, slammed into the side of a house in the 400-block of Mountain Avenue.

When it hit, the homeowner, Anthony Pietzak, was inside with his sister watching television.

"We heard some kind of noise and then a big bang and the house shook and I just ran to the door to see what was going on. I didn't know, I figured something hit our house, but I wasn't sure what it was," Pietzak said.

Once at the door, Pietzak noticed the driver.

He was out of the truck, was close to the house and was alert and talking.

He didn't say what caused him to crash.

"He was like kind of lying there and he said he's hurt. I said, 'I'm calling the police.' He said, 'Yeah, I'm hurt.' So, I just figured that was the best thing to do, just call the police to come out," Pietzak said.

Police arrived at the scene and the driver was taken to the hospital.

There is no word on whether any charges will be filed at this time.
