Ryan Clark: "I Do Feel Like We Have A Chance To Make The Playoffs"

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - While broadcasting live from Nakama in the South Side for another installment of the Ryan Clark Show, the Steelers safety makes a case for the team still having a real shot at making the playoffs.

He says it all starts with winning this week coming off of a much-needed bye week. Winning the remainder of divisional games will be essential, he says, but losses in the next couple games could be too much to overcome.

Coming off a bye week while the Jets have a quick turnaround after playing on Monday night will benefit the Steelers in terms of getting healthy, but rookie quarterback Geno Smith will be fired up after beating the Falcons, Clark says.

Clark also talks about Geno Smith, saying all rookies make mistakes, but clearly Smith has enough talent to continue and do well.

Some of the older players on the Steelers defense know that they are expected to come up with turnovers, so it was good to get away from that pressure for a week he says.

"Sometimes the game forces you to retire," Clark says.

Clark also talks about his admiration for Jets coach Rex Ryan, saying he's defensive-minded and sticks up for his team -- he's someone Clark wouldn't mind playing for.
