Pirates Fans Wait To Receive Playoff Ticket Refunds

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) --- Now that the Pirates season is over, fans who bought playoff tickets for games that won't happen may be wondering about refunds.

Tom Hussar of Marshall-Shadeland says he was told he couldn't get a refund until after the World Series, but a Pirates spokesperson says that's not the case.

The Pirates say they began working hard on the refund process early Thursday morning.

Fans who bought tickets at the PNC Park Main Ticket Office can stop by starting Friday for refunds, according to the spokesperson.

People who purchased tickets on Pirates.com or over the phone, can expect to their credit or debit cards refunded early next week.

Season ticket holders who got the full postseason ticket strips can choose to get either a credit to their account or a refund.

"Working through refunding tens of thousands of ticket orders that were paid through a variety of channels is not a simple flip of the switch, but rather an extensive process involving multiple third party vendors," said the Pirates spokesperson.

He says customers are told before they buy tickets, that the refunding process can take more than three weeks, but in this instance, they hope to have the process completed in two.
