Elderly Man Gets Lost, Reunites With Family During Visit From Ecuador

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- An 85-year-old man from Ecuador was found unhurt Friday night walking on a street in Carnegie.

Christobol Carrasco and his wife are visiting their son and his family in Crafton.

Carrasco went outside today to look for his son's dog, but, when the elderly man failed to return home, his son, Socrates, called police.

The elder Carrasco was spotted by family friend Gary Quinn, a part-time Beaver County Sheriffs deputy, who was driving to Crafton to help in the search this evening.

Socrates Carrasco said his family was worried, because his father does not speak English, didn't have a cell phone and doesn't drive.

He said his father ended up walking a lot around town today and taking a couple of taxis before ending up in Carnegie.

Socrates said he and his wife, Vicki, met when she was in the Peace Corp in Ecuador more than 20 years ago.
