Butler Co. Man Accused Of Raping Female Relative Over 21-Year Period

BUTLER (KDKA) - A man from Butler County is accused of incest and rape while fathering four children.

According to police, Clifford Raynovich, 55, of Summit Township, is in jail and is charged with 71 counts.

Raynovich is accused of raping a female relative over a 21-year period.

State police said the woman, who is now 33, gave birth to four of his children.

Police said the alleged encounters began back in November of 1992 and ended in August of this year in different locations through Allegheny and Butler counties.

Genetic paternity testing was done to confirm that the children did belong to Raynovich.

The victim told police had been sexually assaulted for years, and often times pictures were taken of both the victim, and the suspect.

She also told police she used alcohol to try and cope with the assaults.

A woman who knows the family says a DUI incident involving the victim happened in August. She believes that led to the victim's confession.

"Which I think is what started the ball rolling, once she was in jail she probably brought up the charges against him, I know the children were taken into CYS," she told KDKA's Harold Hayes.

Raynovich is being held on $500,000 bond.
