Police: Diner Employee Burned With Sauce During Child Support Dispute

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A local restaurant employee was taken to a burn unit after a woman stormed into the kitchen and threw a pot of boiling Alfredo sauce on her.

Police say it started when 26-year-old Tori Thomas of Washington, Pa., was at Cee Tee's Diner in Canton Township yelling at 26-year-old Andrew Herron about child support.

After not getting anything from Herron, police say Thomas left, but later came back to the restaurant with two other women and armed with a baseball bat.

They say Thomas hit Herron in the arm, then went inside the restaurant and began swinging at employees.

Thomas continued into the kitchen and was subdued by an employee, but then "tossed" a pot of boiling Alfredo sauce onto 46-year-old Carla Smith.

Police say the sauce covered Smith, causing burns on her head, face, neck, arms and hands.

Smith was taken to the UPMC Mercy burn unit for treatment.

Thomas and her two accomplices were arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail – Thomas on a $25,000 bond, the other two women on $10,000 bonds.
