Furry Tails: Searching For A Forever Home (10/27)

Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

If you're searching for a playful, friendly companion to add to your home, Hazel might just be the girl for you! If you can't stop looking at those beautiful green-yellow eyes, stop in at the Animal Rescue League and meet her today!

The Animal Rescue League says:
"Hazel is a super friendly 3-year-old tortie girl who somehow found herself on the streets all alone as a stray. She is so personable, though, that a Good Samaritan was able to rescue her and bring her into the Animal Rescue League where she is now looking for her forever home. She has been at the shelter since the beginning of July and we're not sure how people keep walking past her beautiful green-yellow eyes!

"Hazel certainly had a home prior to being on the big bad streets as she was spayed and certainly was not starving! Unfortunately, no one came forward to look for her. This 13-pound girl could use a bit of a diet, but she thinks that it is just all the more to love! She is a big purrer and LOVES to be pet and brushed. You can probably hear her purrs from across a room; she just really wants to let you know that she appreciates the attention! She also likes toys and is happy to play with a feather teaser or a nice cat nip mouse.

"She is gentle and is also social with other kitties at the shelter so would be a good addition for a household with children and/or other felines.

"Hazel's look includes all the appropriate colors of fall, so come and celebrate the changing of the seasons by adopting this sweet girl soon!"

Hazel is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and microchipped.

Searching for a sweet, adorable kitty to cuddle with? Then, Oscar is the guy to melt your heart! Sweet and loving, he's waiting for a special forever home that can manage his diabetes.

Animal Friends says:
"This sweet, handsome, 12-year-old orange Tabby cat is a lovebug who happens to be diabetic. Oscar handles this slight inconvenience with matter of factness since he has lived with this condition for many years. Mellow and sometimes timid, our Oscar is looking for a home that can provide for his special needs. He is on medicine and a special diet, both of which can be easily scheduled into a daily routine and conveniently purchased.

"Typical of a mature kitty, Oscar is not so much interested in playtime as he is in lap time! He purrs contently while being held and cuddled. He grooms himself daily and welcomes regular combing... or is that just another way to get petted and lap time? We're not really sure.

"Many of us have family members with diabetes and without a second thought, we are able to offer support and give them our unconditional love. Can you do the same for this special need kitty?

"Oscar has been at Animal Friends for several months and is now eager to find his new loving family. Ask to meet him! Adoption counselors can provide more information about Oscar and also about how Animal Friends may be able to help support his special needs.

"Someone loves Oscar so much that his adoption is sponsored. He is truly priceless!"

Oscar has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
