Boy's Wish To Meet Sidney Crosby Comes True

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Penguins practice at CONSOL Energy Center was attended by a special little fan Thursday morning.

Eight-year-old Matthew Jacko had a front row seat. So did his dad, his mom, and his grandfather, grandmother and sister.

The young fan from Monroeville has an inoperable brain tumor. The Penguins invited him to the practice session, and the Bruins game the night before.

Next stop, the Pens locker room.

"Hey look who this guy is," says Matthew's dad. "Who is that?"

"Sidney Crosby," his son responds.

And so it is.

"He loves Sidney Crosby," says Carey Mynahan-Jacko, the boy's mom. "He likes to watch the games, and that's the one player he recognizes almost immediately every time. So for him to meet Sidney was just awesome for him."

Crosby signed a jersey for his fan, and then escorted the family on a private tour of the team facilities.

"For him to actually meet him, and for him to give us a tour, that was really awesome," says Matthew's dad.

Meanwhile, Matthew has a final thought for his new best friend: "I'm your biggest fan!"
