Calphalon Recalls 22,000 Blenders

A recall has been issued for about 22,000 blenders due to a potential problem with the mixing blade.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall was issued for Calphalon XL 9 speed blenders with model numbers 1832449 and ME600BL.

The CPSC website says a recall was issued because "A piece of the blender's mixing blade unit can break off during use, posing an injury hazard."

The company has received four reports of the blade breaking, but no injuries have been reported.

Consumers are being asked to stop using the blenders and to contact the company for a repair kit.
