Man Arrested After Lincoln-Lemington Police Chase

LINCOLN-LEMINGTON (KDKA) - A man is in custody after leading police on a chase through Lincoln-Lemington early Monday morning.

Earlier this year, an officer was shot and wounded during a very similar situation out of Zone 5. Police said even though the suspect overnight was armed with a loaded handgun, thankfully, this ended much differently.

Police found a loaded pistol, crack cocaine and money after Keenan Tolliver led them on chase throughout Lincoln-Lemington when a sergeant attempted to pull him over for speeding around midnight.

"From the video we saw, it looks like he was probably traveling about 60 mph and that's a posted 25 mph zone," Sgt. Charles Henderson said.

The stolen Cadillac Tolliver was driving crashed during the chase after police said he tried to go down a dirt road and slammed into a wall.

However, that didn't stop him.

Police said he got out and started to run. The sergeant on scene was able to catch up and deploy his Taser, but even that didn't stop the chase.

"When he stopped the electrical discharge of the Taser, he got up and ran off into the woods and subsequently, we arrested him in the woods," Sgt. Henderson said. "He got to a point where he was kind of tangled in the weeds and couldn't go any further."

Police said Tolliver is not permitted by law to carry a gun and is actually out on bail awaiting charges from earlier this year for possessing a firearm.

Police knew Tolliver had a gun during the overnight chase after it fell out of the car.

"We didn't know where the gun was until everything was said and done and we had him in custody and then we found the gun was still in the car. It was a .45 caliber pistol and it was fully loaded," Sgt. Henderson said.

As is protocol anytime someone is Tased by police, Tolliver was taken to an area hospital to be checked out. He was then taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
