Friends, Family Remember Teen Missing For 32 Years

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- What happened to Toni Lynn McNatt of Clairton?

The 14-year-old 9th grader vanished exactly 32 years ago Tuesday, the night of Nov. 5, 1981.

Her sisters, and several dozen friends and relatives held a candlelight vigil Tuesday night.

Lea Keeney, McNatt's sister, told the gathering that she promised her mother before she died that she would never stop looking for Toni.

"She was a very loving, caring person," said Keeney. "She was all about her family."

Keeney thinks her sister was the victim of foul play.

Also at the vigil was retired Clairton Detective William Scully who worked on the case.

"This was kind of personal to me," he said, "I mean she was a young girl, I got personally involved withe the family, I have daughters and nieces."

No one was ever charged in the girl's disappearance, but a number of people were questioned, including Toni's late stepfather, Sam Chiapetta.

Keeney wants her sister's body found so she can get a proper burial.
