Jarvis Jones Talks Rookie Season Struggles In Steelers Defense

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Steelers rookie Jarvis Jones has gone from backup, to starter, to backup again so far this season and he joined Starkey, Miller and Mueller to talk about the roller coaster year he has had and the biggest surprises he has run into.

"I think people look at the physical side of it more than anything," Jones said. "But really it's the mental challenge that challenges you week-to-week in this game."

Jones also discussed what it has been like trying to learn the complicated scheme Defensive Coordinator Dick LeBeau runs.

"Year-to-year you see it, guys being challenged to learn this system. You could be ten to 12 years in this league and still have things to work on and things to improve on," he said. "I'm right here at this stage in my rookie year so I'm learning, doing everything I can to learn still trying to improve and work on things."

Jones also talked about the work he has done with SUBWAY and their work with the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
