Police: Nude Photos Of H.S. Students Appear On Pornographic Website

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Police are investigating after pictures of local high school girls showed up on a pornographic website.

According to police, nude pictures of at least six female students from Norwin High School have appeared on a pornographic website.

Police said some of the pictures were extremely graphic. They're now working with the state Attorney General's Office and the FBI to find out how they got on the website.

KDKA's Brenda Waters Reports:

On Oct. 30, a teacher at Norwin High School heard rumblings that some of the female students had their pictures on a pornography website. That teacher went straight to administrators to report it.

"He stated that he had been made aware of talk in the school about the specific site that there was potential of Norwin students being posted on this site," Detective Sgt. Jeffrey Bouldin said.

Parent Jacinta Beltz says Oct. 30 is around the time she first heard about it from her son, a senior at Norwin.

"He was just saying that there was a pornographic site up with some girls from Norwin High School on there, and they didn't know where the pictures had come from," said Beltz.

Police don't know who posted the pictures and how they were accessed at this time.

"My understanding is, on this specific site, there's a myriad of ways to actually post to this," said Bouldin. "Some of them, you can post anonymous, some of them I believe - I have been told through our investigation - there's actually a place on there, ex-boyfriends.

"We have identified some of them and they are minors and they were in various stages of nudity," Bouldin added.

"I don't even know what would possess you to do that to someone. That can completely ruin someone's reputation and outlook on life and other people," Corrin Colarusso said.

This is a matter that both police and the school district are taking seriously.

Bouldin said he meets with the students regularly to discuss the consequences of nude pictures.

"I stress to the kids, don't take images of themselves. There is no boy in the world worth taking nude photos of yourself for because he loves you," Bouldin said. "Once those images are available to anyone else, those images can be across the country in seconds."

To ensure the best resources are put into this investigation and finding out who posted the pictures, North Huntingdon Police are not working alone.

"I've been in touch with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office. I've also been in touch with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Pittsburgh as well as the FBI," Bouldin said.

KDKA's Heather Abraham Reports:

Police plan to interview the girls they've already identified in the pictures and their families as they continue to work to identify the others seen in the pictures.

A spokesperson with the Attorney General's Office says they will offer special agents, technical personnel and cyber assistance if needed.
