Armstrong Co. Man Accused Of Beating 2-Year-Old

WEST KITTANNING (KDKA) -- An Armstrong County man is now behind bars in the alleged beating of a 2-year-old girl.

Bryant Kimball Yeaples, 22, is accused of repeatedly kicking and punching the child at his home on Union Street in West Kittanning.

The toddler's mother reportedly left the child with Yeaples while she was at work.

The girl was flown to Children's Hospital with bruising to her kidneys, small intestine and stomach.

She also had a lacerated liver and pancreas, broken ribs and fluid in her lungs.

"It was horrible," said one neighbor. "I actually sat there and cried because knowing that I live right across the street."

Yeaples told police the child had a seizure.

The child's mother, Heather Barden, is also facing charges.
