Police Seize Drugs, Arsenal Of Weapons From Mt. Washington Home

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man is under arrest after police seized drugs, body armor and an arsenal of weapons from a home in Pittsburgh's Mount Washington neighborhood Friday.

It happened at a home on Hallock Street after complaints from concerned neighbors about what may have been going on inside that house.

"Within the last week, our Zone Three detectives received information about possible drug activity, maybe some firearms activity at 222 Hallock Street up in Mount Washington, so they started an investigation," said Pittsburgh Police Sgt. Chad O'Brien.

With the help of the SWAT team, Zone Three Pittsburgh Police officers served a search warrant at the home Friday and found numerous weapons.

"Twenty-four different types of weapons – firearms, assault rifles, pistols, shotguns," said Sgt. O'Brien. "Some of the assault rifles had suppressors, or silencers, on them. We recovered body armor comparable to what we would use on the SWAT team, and thousands and thousands of rounds of ammunition."

Five different types of narcotics were also found.
