Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette: 'It's In Their Hands'
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined The Fan Morning Show on Monday morning to recap the Steelers' 27-11 win over the Browns to improve to 5-6 and really put themselves in the playoff mix.
"You can start talking about it now because they are right in the middle of it," Bouchette said. They are tied at 5-6 with six teams for that sixth and final Wild Card playoff spot.
The other teams the Steelers are in the mix with are the Titans (who currently hold the sixth spot because of a tie breaker with the Steelers), the Ravens (who the Steelers will play Thanksgiving night), Chargers, Jets (who the Steelers have beaten) and the Dolphins (who come to town on Dec. 8).
"It's in their hands," Bouchette said. "They know if they win they will be in."
Bouchette said the three game winning streak has extend the season and given fans hope. They will have yet another test Thanksgiving night in Baltimore.
The biggest difference for the Steelers' turnaround is summed up in one word.
"Turnovers," Bouchette said. "They are not giving up any and now they are forcing them. That combined with keeping Ben clean."
Bouchette said another big reason for the Steelers' sudden success is the no-huddle, which everyone in the city has fallen in love with. He expects they will have to scale it back some, but why fix what is not broken right now?
