Dr. Charles Krauthammer Discusses "Things That Matter"

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Through three decades, Dr. Charles Krauthammer has collected an array of stories and memories from his journalist experience. He began his career when President Ronald Regan took office all the way to President Obama.

His new book, "Things that Matter: Three Decades of Passions, Pastimes and Politics," is a collaboration of those essays. That book has now reached No. 1 on the New York Times Best Sellers list for non-fiction work.

Dr. Krauthammer is an author, Pulitzer Prize winner, columnist, political commentator, physician, contributing editor to the Weekly Standard, weekly panelist on "Inside Washington" and a nightly panelist on Fox News's "Special Report with Bret Baier." But to KDKA Radio's Mike Pintek he is his "intellectual hero."

Along with discussing his book, Pintek wanted to hear what Dr. Krauthammer had to say regarding the recent deal with the United States and Iran.

He believes this is an "embarrassment," to say the least. He even went as far as to publicly state that he believes President Obama's deal was "the worst deal since Munich."

"At least at the time of Munich they could get a year to re-arm themselves," said Dr. Krauthammer. "Iran is in a wide spread collapse, we are going to rue the day he made this deal."

"Maximum economic pressure would be better, by reducing it we are giving them relief," said Dr. Krauthammer. "We're reducing the pressure on them to stop the building of nuclear weapons; that's exactly what they want."
