Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Most Of Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Snow began falling overnight and is expected to linger for much of the morning today.

According to KDKA-TV's Jon Burnett, a general 1-3 inches can be expected for much of the viewing area. However, some of the higher elevation areas could see as much as six inches of snow.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until noon for the following counties in Pennsylvania: Allegheny, Armstrong, Greene, Indiana and Washington.

In West Virginia, Monongalia and Preston counties are also under a Winter Weather Advisory until noon.

Burnett expects this latest round of winter weather to wrap up later this morning with some clearing skies this afternoon.

The high will be around 29 degrees.

A blast of arctic air will move into the area and keep temperatures in the 20s for most of the week.
