Father And Son Found Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide

PORT VUE (KDKA) – Family and friends are shocked after a father and son were found dead in their home.

Officials say it appears they died of a murder-suicide.

Richard Liposchok, 79, and his 52-year-old son Mickey were found dead – and many say Liposhock's had a difficult time ever since his wife died last year.

Police were called to the New York Avenue home Tuesday morning after the cleaning lady looked through the window and saw one of the victims lying in a pool of blood.

"They had to break into the front door," said Port Vue Police Chief Bryan Myers. "Found one of the deceased males in the front room floor and one deceased male in the bedroom."

The medical examiner has yet to confirm the cause of death.

"His wife passed away last November," said neighbor Frank Cortazzo, "and the he was taking care of his son who – you know – was in there with him. Not sure what happened, but I know he was getting up in age."

Liposchok's son Mickey was considered mentally challenged.

Neighbors say Richard Liposchok knew a lot about Port Vue.

"Some call him Mr. Port Vue, he was like the town historian," Cortazzo said. "Kept a lot of artifacts down in his basement and kept a lot of old memorabilia of Port Vue."

The medical examiner is expected to perform an autopsy Wednesday and will determine the cause and manner of death.
