Last-Minute Shoppers Rush To Finish Up Holiday Shopping

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Last-minute shoppers were out in full force on Christmas Eve looking to finish up their Christmas shopping.

The last-minute rush is on as shoppers spent their Christmas Eve scurrying through the malls.

Cathy Hanle is crossing the final names off of her list.

"Sometimes if you can't get something online, then you can come out and get a different idea when it gets too late to get them online," Hanle said.

The last-minute crowd consisted of mostly men looking for jewelry and perfume.

"Last-minute, women are better prepared," one man said.

For kids, it's the last chance to take a ride on the train and share their list with Santa. Many came dressed for the occasion, but KDKA-TV's Trina Orlando found one group who dressed with a purpose.

"We're at the store and we decided we wanted to embarrass our niece. So, we decided that we would buy all these hats and wear them around to embarrass her," one woman said.

If you're looking to do some last-minute shopping yourself, you have a couple of options.

The Toys R Us in Monroeville is open until 9 p.m., while the CVS and Target are both open until 10 p.m.

Walgreens is also open until midnight.
